SALLY MICK JOHNSON

Sally Mick Johnson, 89, died Jan. 20, 2016, in Oconto, surrounded by her family after a short illness.

She was born in Waukesha on Oct. 21, 1926, to Richard and Francis Smelter. She attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., and received a master’s degree in speech pathology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she met her husband, Roger M. Mick, who preceded her in death.

The Micks made their permanent home in Palatine, Ill., where they raised two children. Following her retirement from the Palatine Public School District, she taught for two years in Germany before relocating to Lake Geneva where she married Arthur L. Johnson, of Delavan. Following Arthur’s death, she relocated to Oconto to live near her family.

Sally is survived by her children Jane E. Raissle, of Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii, and John R. (Cheryl) Mick, of Oconto; two grandchildren David Raissle and Katherine Raissle; and two step-grandchildren Brendan C. Welsh and Erin E. Welsh.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Unitarian Universalist Church of the Lakes, 319 N. Broad St., Elkhorn.

Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan is assisting the family.
