O’Hara earns three podium finishes at state

Whitewater High School senior gymnast Kelly O’Hara concluded her Whippet career on March 5 at the Wisconsin State Gymnastics Meet by garnering three podium finishes.

O’Hara began the meet on the bars where she scored an 8.633 which was good for sixth place.

GymansticsShe then went on the beam and had a fall, but placed 13th. According to Whippets head coach Jennifer Galbrecht, the senior followed the fall up with a near flawless floor routine.

O’Hara’s floor routine, a 9.317, was good for a third-place finish.

She concluded her multi-event trip to state on the vault, where she ended up placing in eighth with a 9.117.

Galbrecht said it was an amazing way for O’Hara to end her career, placing at three events at the state competition.

With all of her scores combined, she scored a 35.45 in the all-around, which earned her a sixth-place finish overall.
