A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Feb. 29 for an East Troy teenager charged with having sex with his 13-year-old girlfriend.
Thomas J. Hunt, 17, was charged Feb. 17 in Walworth County Circuit Court with sexual assault of a child younger than 16 years old.
According to the criminal complaint, Hunt and the girl were caught having sexual intercourse in a car in the area of 2845 Lakeview Drive in East Troy at about 7:20 a.m. Jan. 20. Police Chief Alan Boyes knocked on the driver’s side window of the car after he saw the pair inside who appeared to be engaged in sexual intercourse, according to the complaint.
When Boyes knocked on the window, Hunt moved over to the driver’s seat, engaged the vehicle and pushed the gas, according to the complaint. Boyes hit the window with his fist and ordered the driver to turn the car off and get out, according to the complaint.
The vehicle moved forward and picked up speed, and Boyes got in his squad car to pursue the car, which stopped about 200 feet away, according to the complaint.
Hunt allegedly admitted he had been having sex with his 13-year-old girlfriend in the car, according to the complaint.
