There is one lone survivor still remaining from the Big Foot-Williams Bay wrestling squad.
And he’ll have his chance to move onto the big show later this week.
Travis Berryman, wrestling at 120 pounds, finished second at last week’s Division 2 regional meet to advance to this weekend’s Milwaukee Lutheran Sectional.
Berryman (32-9) was the only Big Foot wrestler to advance.
After a first-round bye, Berryman posted a 9-0 major decision victory over Wisconsin Lutheran’s Jacob Evans to advance to the title matchup.
In that contest, he lost by major decision 15-4 to East Troy’s Cody Vogel, but because of his win over Evans, he clinched the second-place finish and a sectional berth.
Next up for Berryman is the sectional Saturday at 10 a.m. The top-three finishers in each weight class advance to the WIAA State Tournament at the Kohl Center, Madison.
Also competing for the Chiefs, who hosted the regional, were Titus Fredrick (126), Rodney Flom (152), Ethan Rowland (170) and Nick Freymiller (285).
Flom finished 0-2, while Frederick, Rowland and Freymiller each were 0-1.
