Lady Elks still winless

A basketball team can do everything right, but if the ball does not fall though the cylinder success will be elusive.

Coach Todd Frohwirth said the Elkhorn Area High School girls basketball played its best game of the season Feb. 5 at Badger in a Southern Lakes Conference game, but could not overcome poor shooting and lost 56-20.

The Elks (0-18, 0-11) played a SLC game Tuesday at home against Union Grove, and play Friday at home in a SLC game against Westosha Central.

“It was our best game of the year, except the ball didn’t go in,” Frohwirth said. “By far, the best shot selection and options we have had all year.”

Frohwirth said the Elks ran their offense and passed well, but just could not make shots.

Badger took advantage of the Elks’ woes on offense and outscored Elkhorn 23-9 in the first half. Badger outscored the Elks 33-11 in the second half.
