The event features 10 rounds of fun trivia, numerous items in a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, free childcare, a cash bar and light refreshments. The cost per 8-person team is $120 and the registration deadline is Feb. 5. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top two teams.
Trivia Night will be held in the Hamilton Room on the first floor of the James R. Connor University Center on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater campus.
All proceeds will go to the following entities: Whitewater Unified School District Family Emergency Fund; Whitewater Food Pantry; Washington School Mural Project; along with several community, youth-oriented projects including the Easter Egg Hunt, fishing derby, high school scholarships and Breakfast with Santa.
“The food pantry is a saving grace for many families living in Whitewater,” Lanora Heim, WUSD’s Director of Pupil Services, said. “The Washington School Mural Project will be very fun and will be something that the children can be proud of.”
The WUSD Family Emergency Fund, “provides families with necessities and aids those in crisis,” Heim added.
Those unable to attend but wanting to contribute to the fund raising efforts can make tax deductible donations or donate silent auction items or refreshments to help defray costs for the event. Donations can be sent to: UW Whitewater Community Optimist Club, P.O. Box 571, Whitewater, WI 53190. Checks should be made payable to: Optimist International Foundation and donors are asked to specify how the donation should be used.
