In remembrance of Donald Daniel McGuire (1938-2015).
Preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Loretta, and his brother Mike.
Brother to Roger, Ralph Jr., Patrick and Beverly. Father of Charlene, Patricia, Shaun, Brian and Paula. Grandfather of Dan, Sam, Erin, Brianne, Shane, Molly, Abby and Kailey. Great-Grandfather of Makenna, Greyson and Jackson.
He was a proud member of Milwaukee Iron Workers Local 8 as well as an avid supporter and member of many organizations that help individuals and families battling substance addiction.
A man amongst men and a child amongst children, he was a champion for those less fortunate than he. He was always willing to generously spend his time, talent and charity to assist those in need or to lend a helping hand. He will be remembered by those who loved him most for his infectious smile, glinted eye and barrel chested laugh.
He lived life with a pursuit of leaving this earth accomplishing a simple goal – “not wanting anything more.” In accomplishing this goal he left the world a better place.
We, as his family wish him peace, love and contentment in the next chapter of his life and will forever cherish the experiences and moments that made him part of our family. God-speed.
A celebration of life will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 12, at Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason Road, Onalaska. Service will be at 11 a.m.
Memorials may be made to treatment centers for addiction.
