Golf outing to benefit school district

Event offering numerous way to support local kids

The Whitewater Unified School District Leadership Team, comprised of school principals, district coordinators and administrators, is hosting the 1st Annual Golf Fore! Whitewater Kids Outing, Sunday, Aug. 30 at Prairie Woods Golf Course.

Members of the community are invited and encouraged to register individually or as a foursome, sponsor a hole, donate silent auction items and prizes, or attend the dinner reception following the outing.

Event organizers said the goal of the outing is to make a difference in the lives of local, Whitewater children.

All of the proceeds from this golf outing and dinner will support the following:

  • Scholarships for graduating Whitewater High School seniors;
  • Performing Arts through the Whitewater Music Parents Association;
  • Athletics through the Whippet Booster Club, and;
  • Whitewater Unified School District’s Family Emergency Fund

There are several ways to get involved and support this worthwhile event for local children. Register a foursome for the golf outing or, for individuals up to three people, register anyway and organizers will pair people together to create a team.

Individuals and businesses are invited to sponsor a hole, which entitles the sponsor to a sign along the course acknowledging their support.

Donations of items for the silent auction as well as the raffle and general prizes are more than welcome.

Finally, for participants or those who aren’t keen on the game of golf, attend the dinner reception where this year’s recipients of the new Friends of Whitewater Kids awards will be announced.

An additional way to support the event is through promotion so tell people about it.
