LORNA H. SKRIVSETH

Lorna Skrivseth Photo      Lorna H. Skrivseth, 95 of Elkhorn, died unexpectedly June 18, 2015, at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn.

She was born March 24, 1920, in Sydney, Nova Scotia, the daughter of the late Francis P. and Theresa M. (Farrell) Healey. She was united in marriage to Robert K. Skrivseth, P.E., on Sept. 8, 1949, in Riverside, Ill. Robert preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 2011.

Lorna, a graduate of Hunter College in New York City, worked as an Aircraft Engineering Draftsman during WWII and continued until she married in 1949.

Lorna had many interests throughout her life. As a young adult she earned her private pilot’s license and was a co-owner of the plane she flew. She was a life-long reader and Scrabble player. She organized and participated in bridge clubs for many years. She was a gourmet cook.

Lorna was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed by her four surviving children, Robert C. Skrivseth, of Sandia Park, N.M., Theresa (John Dyer) Skrivseth, of Brookfield, Gregory (Shirley) Skrivseth, of Bellevue, Iowa, and Joan Lorna Skrivseth, of Orlando, Fla.; her six grandchildren, Rachel (Mark) Bloodworth, Michael (Tanya) Skrivseth, Nicole (Cory) Bassing, Daniel, Eric and Ian Skrivseth; two great-grandsons, Alexander Bloodworth and Elway Bassing; and her sister, Theresa Cavanagh, of San Diego, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert; one daughter, Christine (Mark) Easter; one son, Richard; her brother, Frank; and three sisters, Anne, Ceal, and Mary.

Visitation was held Monday June 22, 2015, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory, 730 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was at 3 p.m. on Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 107 W. Walworth St., Elkhorn, with the Rev. Oriol Regales officiating. Burial was at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McKinley Township Cemetery in Cumberland.
