Florence B. Delhey, 91, died on May 1, 2015.
She was born Oct. 11, 1923, in Omaha, Neb., to Charles and Ella (Krueger) Britt. She was a graduate of Creighton University and was employed as a stewardess for United Airlines before marrying her husband of 49 years, J. Donald (Don) Delhey, of Chicago, on Sept. 8, 1951. They moved to Delavan in 1954 and were Delavan Lake residents for 40 years. They later moved to Fontana in retirement.
She was a longtime member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Delavan and served on its women’s committee. She was also a member of the Delavan Service League and the Williams Bay Questors. She worked at and managed the Lake Lawn Lodge women’s shop for years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents; two sisters; and a brother. She is survived by her daughter, Laura (Tom Mintal), of Lisle, Ill.; two sons, Duncan (Mary), of Waukesha, and Chris (Marianne), of Lake Forest, Ill.; and four grandchildren, John Donald II, Anne Delhey, Claudia and Sophie Delhey.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 714 E. Walworth Avenue, Delavan. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the Church. Interment will be in St. Andrew’s cemetery. Monroe Funeral Home, Delavan, is assisting the family.
