The City of Whitewater will conduct a leaf and yard waste collection April 13 through 17. Residents are advised to place bagged yard waste on the curb by Monday, April 13.
Yard waste must be bagged in clear or transparent bags. It will not be collected if bagged improperly or has been placed in non-transparent or black bags.
Brush will not be collected as part of the yard waste collection. Residents requesting brush collection should call the city’s streets and parks department at (262) 473-0542 to make an appointment for a pickup, which are scheduled in advance on Tuesdays.
The city’s compost site is set to open beginning on Saturday, April 11 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. A loader will be available for chips and mulch at the compost site on the first Saturday of the month beginning on May 2. Additionally, the site will open on Wednesday afternoons from 3 to 7 p.m. beginning on May 6.
One final but important thing to note: it is against city ordinance to deposit any yard waste on city streets or right-of-ways other than on days designated by city officials.
