Todd Alan Schlender, 55, of Mukwonago and Fort Myers, Fla., passed away unexpectedly March 6, 2015. He was born on May 30, 1959 in Milwaukee, to Frederick “Gus” W. and Violet L. (Rohde) Schlender.

Todd attended New Berlin Eisenhower High School and graduated from East Troy High School in 1977. He continued his education at the University of Wisconsin- Waukesha in commercial art from 1977 until 1979.

Todd started his career at Wisconsin Oven Corp. in East Troy, working his way up to become chief executive officer and chairman of the board for more than 27 years, until his retirement in March 2005.

In retirement, he was the owner of Blank-Men’s Jewelry and Gifts, most recently vice-president of client services for Lakes Business Group, Inc., member and retired board member of Merrill Hills Country Club December 2006 to November 2010, member of the Plantation Country Club, Fort Myers, and member of the Lake Beulah Yacht Club.

Todd loved to golf and enjoyed competitive golf championships in Wisconsin and Florida. Todd enjoyed every lake sport for every season of the year.

He and Patti continued his love of Lake Beulah where they bought a house that together they made into a home, where life and holidays were celebrated with family and close friends.

One of Todd’s greatest passions was cooking, enjoying wines, imported beers, and pairing them with his delicious creations.

Todd was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey.

He will be deeply missed by his fiancée, Patti Nolan; his four-legged friend, Auggie; his parents, Gus and Vi; his sister, Jacalyn Skelton; nieces and nephews, Jody (Scott), Jamey (Sharon), Christopher, Nathan (Julie) and Jessica (Cleo); six great nieces and nephews; Patti’s family: mom, Betty; sisters, Mary Beth (Don), Jackie (Mike), Kim (Richie) and Terri (Joe); nieces and nephews, Jack, Paige, Rachel, Nolan, Carley, Alexis and Ahna’ and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, at the Country Springs Hotel, 2810 Golf Road, Pewaukee. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the hotel.

Interment will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, at Highland Memorial Park, 14875 W. Greenfield Ave New Berlin. (Meet in front of the cemetery office.)

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated for a charity to be determined at a later date.
