ANTHONY J. WISNEWSKI

Anthony John Wisnewski, 49, of Hubert, N.C., died at his residence on Feb. 4, 2015.

He was a childhood resident of East Troy and graduated from East Troy High School, Class of 1983.

Immediately upon graduation he joined the U.S. Marine Corps where he served for 21 years. Upon retiring from the Marines he entered into public service work as a police officer for the Town of Swansboro and Eden, N.C.

He also volunteered for the Swansboro Fire Department/EMT emergency services. In November, 2014 he retired as a police officer for the N.C. Port Authority – Morehead City.

Survivors include his wife, Medra M., of Hubert, N.C.; daughters, Shelby, Rebecca, and Kasey Wisnewski, all of Hubert, and Michelle Pickett of North Carolina; sons, Robert Halbrook II, Michael, Terry and Tracy, all of North Carolina; sister Mary Ann (Steve) Billings, of East Troy; and 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Lou Wisnewski, of East Troy, and son Joseph Wisnewski of North Carolina.

A memorial service was held Feb. 9, at Swansboro United Methodist Church, N.C. Burial followed at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors.

Jones Funeral Home, Swansboro, N.C., assisted the family.
