Performance to be studio’s first since it began last summer

Elkhorn’s newest dance company, Dreams Studio, is gearing up to present its very first production in Elkhorn, “A Perfect Christmas,” to be held Dec. 19 and 20 at the Walworth County Performing Arts Center in downtown Elkhorn.
According to Jennifer Kiel, the holiday revue of song and dance features holiday classics, such as “Jingle Bells,” with a little twist, and local dancers performing tap, dance, ballet hip hop, and even singing as well.
This show marks the studio’s first production, as students started rehearsals this past summer.
Kiel said students have been working very hard since rehearsals started this past summer, noting that some of the students had never taken any dance or voice lessons, though it wasn’t really noticeable.
“They’re all doing a great job,” she said. “They come with positive attitudes and a smile on their face.”
“I am very proud of all of my students,” she said. “I work with these students just one night each week and they have accomplished so much in the past 12 weeks.”
Kiel said the young performers are getting excited for this performance, being not only a first for the studio, but also a first for many of the students.
“It will be most of their first performances as dancers and some of them are singing and dancing,” she said.
Kiel said it’s difficult to choose any one aspect of the show attendees should be excited for as it’s a great overall show with a wide variety of elements to look forward to.
“They will get a variety, a little tap-dancing, hip-hopping, a little singing,” she said.
Performances will be held at 7 p.m. on Dec. 19 and 2 p.m. on Dec. 20 at the Walworth County Performing Arts Center, 15 W. Walworth St., Elkhorn. Tickets cost $7 and can be purchased at the Elkhorn Chamber of Commerce, from Dreams Studio students and at the door on the days of performances.
