After a promising start, the Lady Whippets volleyball team has hit a bit of a rough stretch, culminating in one of the more lopsided losses of the season to East Troy last week: 10-25, 8-25, 13-25.

Whitewater, which usually does not shift its lines, tried some new strategies, including moving Sarah Schumacher to the opposite side to get better defense. The shift worked at times and the coach was pleased with the adjustment.

“I hate to switch up a line up without practicing the rotation first but we responded well,” coach Kathy Bullis said. “It was exciting to see the girls adjust on the fly.”

Carmen Wyatt led the team with three kills, Lauren Lohff had eight digs and Savanna Pope added five assists.

At 0-6 in conference in what the Whippets knew would be a growing season they were looking to come out on top against Jefferson last Thursday for the Whippets final conference game of the year. Alas, it was not to be as Whitewater fell 3-0 their conference foe.
