GILBERT A. MALMSTROM

Gilbert A. Malmstrom, 92, of East Troy, died Sept 28, 2014. He was born Oct. 21, 1921, in West Allis, to the late Rudolph and Anna (nee Johnson).

He attended West Allis High School.

He married Jean Schultz on Sept. 21, 1946, in Milwaukee. They made Booth Lake their residence for many years.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of the East Troy American Legion, the Laflin St. James Masonic Lodge and a founder of the Walworth County NAMI. He also served on the Booth Lake Memorial Park board, volunteered at the East Troy Food Pantry and had the opportunity to visit Washington, D.C., on board the Honor Flight in 2010.

He greatest loves were his family and spending time on Booth Lake.

Survivors include his wife; children, Gregg (Deb), Georgia, Kathy (Rick) Anderson, East Troy and Paul (Anna), Williams Bay; grandchildren, Matthew, Troy and Kristin (Darren) Gallagher, Lissy Malmstrom, Ryan (Tiffany) Piedot and Rob (Amy) Piedot; great-grandchildren, Adeline, Jackson, Boyd and Declan; along with many other relatives and friends.

He was further preceded in death by his son Jack.

A memorial celebration will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, at St. James United Methodist Church, 2945 Main St., East Troy. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of service at the church.

Memorials to the Scholarship fund at St. James UMC or the pastors fund at Wauwatosa Presbyterian Church, 2366 N. 80th St.. Wauwatosa, WI 53213, are suggested.

Legacy Funeral Services, East Troy, is serving the family.
