MABEL L. LUDTKE

Mabel Lillian Ludtke, 98, formerly of East Troy, died Sept. 10, 2014 at Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau. She was born on Aug. 8, 1916, to the late William H. and Nora E. (Peterkort) Springer in Grayslake, Ill.

She married the late Ellis F. Ludtke on Dec. 21, 1941.

She was a caretaker all of her life. She loved caring for her children, husband, and even residents of Walworth County Nursing Home. She continued to care for everyone well into her 80s. She was a longtime member of First Congregation United Church of Christ in East Troy.

Survivors include her children, Larry, Reeseville, and Linda Tauchen, Reno, Nev.; grandchildren, Stephanie, Grafton, Matthew (Rebecca), DePere, Ryan (Lea) Tauche, Reno, Nev., and Erika Tauchen, Reno, Nev.; great-grandchildren, Sam and Jonah; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was futher preceded in death by her sisters, Helen and Clara; and daughter-in-law, Barbara.

The memorial gathering will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, at the First United Church of Christ, 106 Washington St., Reeseville. The memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lois Rosko officiating. Inurnment will be at Oakridge Cemetery, on the corner of highways 20 and ES in East Troy, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 15.
