An autopsy was performed on Robert A. Giner, 30, from Schaumburg, Ill., this morning after his body was recovered from Middle Lake in Lauderdale Lakes, Elkhorn, late Sunday afternoon.
According to a press release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, the department was contacted about a missing person at W5454 Lost Nation Road in the Town of LaGrange at about 11:30 a.m. Sept. 7.
The missing person was last seen by friends at about 2 a.m. on the dock by the water’s edge. Deputies from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office began a ground search and the Lauderdale Lakes Police Boat and the Department of Natural Resources conducted a shore search of the area of Middle Lake in Lauderdale Lakes.
The Walworth County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team began an underwater search of the area where he was last seen at 3:15 p.m.
Giner’s body was recovered in about eight feet of water, 30 yards from shore at about 4:45 p.m. Sunday, according to the press release.
The Walworth County Coroner’s Office was contacted and an autopsy was performed earlier today. Foul play is not suspected and toxicology results are pending.
It was 11:30 am not pm. It would be appreciated if the reporter checked her work prior to print. Maybe no foul play but they didn’t just part ways. Roberts friend did not make an effort to get him back in the house because Robert was too tired to make the 150 stair climb due to mitigating factors. So his friends and the homeowner left him on the deck by the water versus moving him closer to the stairs away from the water. I am the mother of this young man and can only tell you what the only person who stuck around once they realized he was missing told me despite others were given different versions of the events.
