The Delavan-Darien High School girls’ basketball team started its season 0-2 after losing to Clinton and East Troy.
The Comets lost to East Troy 36-34 on Saturday after having a 27-21 third-quarter lead.
On Nov. 26, the Comets traveled to Clinton and lost 48-32.
The Comets are returning four players to their line-up from last year including seniors Megan Butke, Alex Lewis and Kylie Collins and sophomore Jennah Speth.
Senior Kylie Sawtelle, team manager last year, is new to the roster along with juniors Katherine Froncek, Cindy Crawford, Madison Stronach, Macie Hill and Brooke Boss. Rounding out the roster is sophomore Claudia Nieuwenhuis and freshman Kenna Timmerman.
In Clinton, the Comets found themselves down 28-16 at halftime before losing the game 48-32.
At East Troy it was a slow offensive start for both teams with the Comets holding on to the 13-9 halftime advantage.
After outscoring the Trojans 14-12 in the third quarter, the Comets edged their lead to six points at 27-21. In the final quarter of action, East Troy outscored the Comets 15-7 and took the two-point win.
Butke and Speth paced the Comets with nine points each.
The Comets start Southern Lakes Conference action tomorrow night when they host Elkhorn at 7 p.m.
Tuesday the Comets travel to Milton for a 7:30 p.m. game.
