Old World Wisconsin is inviting visitors to drop off new or gently used outerwear, accessories and other warm clothing items as part of the Wisconsin Department of Tourism’s statewide “The Big Bundle Up” campaign.

This is the third year of the program. Last year’s program collected more than 17,000 items to help warm up families in need throughout the state.

With the spirit of the holiday season upon us, donating winter items is the perfect way to give back to Wisconsin families in need.

A donation box will be located at Old World Wisconsin during the museum’s holiday events, including The Spirit of Christmas Past on Dec. 7-8 and Dec. 14-15, from noon to 4 p.m.

Guests with reservations will be welcomed to bring items to the event for which they are registered:

• “Little Women” dinner theater performances, weekends, Nov. 29-Dec. 22;

• Breakfast with Father Christmas, Dec. 21-22; and

• Old World Foundation’s 30th annual Ethnic Holiday Dinner, Dec. 7-8 and Dec. 14-15.

All items donated at Old World Wisconsin will be given to The Women’s Center in Waukesha. The mission of this organization is to provide safety, support and shelter to women and their families and to facilitate their development.

They are especially in need of children’s winter jackets, snow pants, boots, and plus-sized hoodies, shirts, and sweatpants.
