Lakeland Players get into holiday spirit in weekend show

Children get into the act as the Lakeland Players present  “A Dickens of a Christmas” as a prelude to the holiday season.

The fresh take on the Charles Dickens classic novel “A Christmas Carol” is scheduled to run Nov 30-Dec. 1 and Dec. 7-8 at The Walworth County PAC, 15 W. Walworth St., Elkhorn.

All shows begin at 4 p.m. and the cost is $7.

The family friendly show enables the audience to follow the young cast as they bring to life the tale of covetous miser Ebenezer Scrooge.

When visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future, Scrooge is forced to see the coldness of his own “humbug” ways and learns to honor Christmas in his heart.

Characters include Dickens’ favorites Jacob Marley, Bob Cratchit, Mr. and Mrs. Fezziwig and Tiny Tim.

The production is directed by Terry Ketchpaw, produced by Wendy Koehnke, and choreographed by Jennifer French, all of Elkhorn.

Tickets are available at The Elkhorn Chamber of Commerce, by calling Linda (262) 728-5578, or on line at www.lakeland-players.org.
