Runners wrap for the season

St. Paul’s grade school cross country team celebrates successful season

Students from St. Paul’s Lutheran School enjoyed a very successful season of cross country.

The team was made up of 20 grade-school children ranging from second grade to sixth grade. Every child worked very hard starting in mid-August and ending on Oct. 11 with their final meet in which every member of the team ran their fastest time.

Some team highlights of the season include a second place trophy from St. Jacobi invite Sept. 6, first place trophy at Mt. Calvary invite, several third-place team finishes.

Many individuals had success on the running course with Aaron Olson, Savannah Jurek (second grade) and Matthew Clauer (third grade) bringing home medals for first in age group at Mt. Calvary. Clauer led the boys with many outstanding top 10 finishes earning five individual medals overall.

Also for the boys Jon Kurth, Konnor Hill and Christopher Clauer had consistent top 20 finishes. Alexis Olson, Jersey Cieslik and Savannah led the girls team with consistent top 20 finishes as well.

All team members showed hard work and dedication and awesome team support throughout the entire season and everyone improved from start to finish.
