Mercy receives Consumer Choice Award

Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center has received the Consumer Choice Award from the National Research Corp., the nation’s leading consumer health care surveyor.

Winners are determined by consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings collected in NRC’s Market Insights study. This study surveys more than 270,000 consumers and is based on hospitals that possess the best overall quality, image/reputation, doctors and nurses.

“This award is yet another example of what a great team we have, not just in Rock County but system wide,” said Javon Bea, president and chief executive officer of the Janesville-based Mercy. “It takes all of us doing our individual jobs to the best of our ability to achieve a recognition such as this. It takes every caregiver putting patients first and treating them with kindness and compassion. It takes every employee in a support position giving their all to make Mercy great for patients and communities.”

Mercy was recognized for this honor in the Oct. 21, 2013 issue of Modern Healthcare Magazine. This award recognizes 277 hospitals nationwide that consumers have chosen as having the highest quality and image in the country.

Founded in 1895, Mercy Health System is a not-for-profit, vertically integrated multi-specialty health system that serves more than one million individuals through its 68 facilities in 26 southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois communities. It employs more than 400 physicians and nearly 4,000 employees
