With two wins in three games at the Milton Invite Friday and Saturday, the Whitewater High School boys soccer team improved to 6-2 overall this season.

On Friday, the Whippet boys fell 3-0 to Milton. They came back, though, on Saturday to defeat Waterford 2-0 and Waukesha North 2-1.

Against Waterford, Whitewater got goals from Mark Cuevas (with an assist to Max Walton) and Walton (with an assist to Alonso Banda).

In the win over Waukesha North, Jake Reimer scored off an assist from Cuevas, and Banda scored via a free kick.

Big win over Big Foot

The biggest win of the past week came in overtime over Big Foot Sept. 5. The Whippets defeated the Chiefs 2-1 in two overtimes to improve to 3-0 in the Rock Valley Conference.

In the previous two games between these two teams, Whitewater had scored a combined 16 goals. This time, though, the Chiefs defense was impressive.

Both teams battled to a scoreless first half.

About midway through the second half, Big Foot took a 1-0 lead. It stayed that way until just 1:27 to go in the game when Walton scored on an assist from Cuevas.

Neither team scored in the first 1-minute overtime, but just 36 seconds into the second overtime, Cuevas scored on an assist from Xhonatan Shahollari.

Schedule

Whitewater hosted Jefferson on Tuesday in an RVC matchup.

On Thursday, Sept. 12, the boys will be at Evansville for a 6:45 p.m. RVC game.

Next week, the Whippets will host East Troy on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 6:45 p.m.
