2016 Farm Technology Days informational meeting slated

Family farms interested in hosting the 2016 Farm Technology Days in Walworth County may attend an informational meeting on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. in Room 214 of the Government Building, 100 W Walworth Street in Elkhorn.

Potential host farm members will be able to ask questions of the Wisconsin Farm Technology Days, Inc. general manager as well as family members who have experienced this event firsthand as hosts of previous events. Those interested in applying will learn about what hosting Farm Technology Days means for their farms and the requirements in acreage are for parking, field demonstrations, and tent city. This is a unique opportunity to showcase one of Walworth County’s many outstanding family farms as well as the county as a whole.

Applications for hosting the 2016 Farm Technology Days show are available on the University of Wisconsin-Extension website: http://walworth.uwex.edu or by request. Also available are the volunteer interest forms. There will be a variety of volunteer opportunities, including fundraising, food, marketing, parking, field demonstrations, and many more.  For more information, contact Peg Reedy at the Walworth County UW Extension office at (262) 741-4961 or peg.reedy@ces.uwex.edu.
