Andy Cooper scored the sole points for the Whitewater High School track and field squads at the Wisconsin Track and Field Association’s State Indoor Championships held Saturday at UW-Whitewater.

Cooper finished fifth in the high jump, clearing six feet four inches. The 6-04 was actually the second highest height cleared at the meet, but based on tie-breaking criteria (three athletes cleared that height), Cooper finished fifth.

Those four points were the sum total of points scored by the two Whippet squads.

The only other Whippet boy to finish in the top 20 in any of the events was Anthony Juoni. Juoni was 17th in the triple jump with a leap of 40-07.

For the Whippet girls, Kailey Reynolds came the closest to scoring some team points with her 12th-place finish in the 55-meter dash. That was recorded in the semi-final race.

Next week, the squads will host a strong East Troy team on Tuesday, April 16, at 4:45 p.m. in RVC action.
