BloodCenter planning local blood drives

BloodCenter of Wisconsin continues to see a decrease in blood donations during the summer months and is asking for the help of local residents to offset this trend.

BloodCenter said it must see at least 800 donors each day in order to meet the needs of the hospitals it serves.

“The unique gift of blood can help save the lives of children and adults who are seriously injured, undergoing surgery or being treated for cancer and other illnesses,” organizers said.

“Hospitals, including Aurora Lakeland Medical Center, have come to rely on BloodCenter of Wisconsin for a steady supply of blood to treat their patients.”
