Municipal and school boards are up for election

By Tracy Ouellette

Area residents interested in serving on local government boards and the East Troy Community School District Board of education are circulating nomination papers.

Dec. 1 was the first day candidates can begin circulating nomination papers with 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, deadline to submit final paperwork, including declaration of candidacy and campaign registration statements.

For incumbents who do not plan on seeking re-election, they have until 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, to file notification of non-candidacy.

Regardless of municipality, or school board, if more than two candidates file to seek any single seat – or more than double the available at-large seats – a primary election will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 23, to narrow the field for the April 4 Spring Election.
