Jen Wydra chaired the committee with the help of Carrie Nowicke, Jamie Popenhagen, Ashley Metcalf and Telena Behrns. The group came up with the theme of Candyland for the dance.

When the participants arrived, they were treated to a scene of lollipops and balloons adorning the hallways and gymnasium. Giant candies were scattered throughout the area and hanging from the ceiling. Halfway through the dance, many of the decorations had been claimed by the girls to take home.

There were games to guess how many candies were in the jar. Families and local businesses donated the prizes. At the end of the night, everyone went home with something.

Music was provided by Scott Thomas Entertainment and included interactive dances like a hula-hoop contest. Treats brought by the families kept the dancers energized through the evening.

Girls attending Brookwood in kindergarten through fifth grade were welcome to attend with their dad or other important male in their life. Photographs were taken of each family and will be provided to the girls at school.

The Daddy Daughter Dance is the longest running tradition for the Brookwood Parent Teacher Organization.
