BARBARA J. GRIFFITHS

Barbara Griffiths

Barbara J. Griffiths (nee Greco-Richardson), 80, of East Troy, found her peace from ALS on Jan. 19, 2022, at home surrounded by family.

If you had the pleasure of knowing her, then she touched your heart. Barb was born in Kenosha to Frank Thomas Greco and Martha nee Weigand Greco-Richardson.

She graduated from Burlington High School in 1959 as class president, and was the original designer of the BHS Demon logo used today, along with her two classmates.

Barb loved her life mission as a nurse, helping others to heal. She saw the best in all, and championed each of us to believe in ourselves.

Barb married James McCoy, from Kenosha, where the two worked at American Motors. They had three children.

She married William Griffiths, of Burlington, later in life.

As a lover of music, it typically filled the house. Her favorites were Steven Tyler, and IL Volo.

She was a passionate reader and loved the smell and feel of books. Barb had a knack for wrapping the presents that she gave, like a piece of artwork. They were beautiful.

She enjoyed cooking and was the master of wonderful Italian dinners.

She loved to post positive vibes on Facebook and was a member of the Worldwide West Highland Terrier Club.

Barb was a devoted member and contributor of the Sierra Club and Boys Town for more than 60 years.

She is survived by her children, Julie (Matt) Scurek, James and John McCoy; grandchildren, Bethany (Jeff) Judd, Olivia (Jacob) Aizikovitz, Gina (Curt) Reinholtz and Justin Flynn; and her great-grandchildren, Malaky Flynn and Emerson, Barrett and Baker Judd, who always made her smile.

She was preceded in death by her friend and daughter-in-law, Michelle McCoy.

Barbara’s friendship, compassion, grace and love was left with each of us who knew her, in the hope of passing this on.

Memorials/donations can be made to Lakeland Animal Shelter or Fellow Mortals in memory of Barb.

Legacy Funeral Services, East Troy, has the honor of serving the family.
