Dozens of dogs hit the Duck Pond Recreation Area for a doggie egg hunt

The doggie egg hunt organized by Big Foot Recreation District Program Coordinator Briana Sindahl brought in about 40 dogs, according to organizers, who indicated the event had slightly more pre-registered for the event.

Dogs scouring the recreation area found kibble-filled eggs, organizers said, adding some could come away with more prizes.

Organizers required owners to keep their dogs leashed and controlled as well as submitting a waiver to participate in the event.

Participants paid $5 per dog with some also donating pet items to Lakeland Animal Shelters.

Geneva Lakes Animal Hospital, Blue Dog, Lakeland Animal Shelter, The Bark Market LLC, Main Street Country Store and The Pet Gourmet sponsored the event by partnering with the Big Foot Recreation District.
