Welcome sight

A robin takes a drink from a heated birdbath outside a home in the Kettle Moraine State Forest near Whitewater last Sunday afternoon. Because many robins migrate south for the winter, sightings of them during the colder months is often believed to be a sign that spring is not far behind. But some do remain in Wisconsin – if they believe there are enough food sources to sustain them – according to the Madison Audubon Society. (Peter Mischka photo)
