Village of Darien Administrator Rebecca LeMire is leaving the village to become the Fort Atkinson City Manager. At Monday night’s Village Board meeting, LeMire announced Feb. 19 would be her last day working for the village. She submitted her letter of resignation to the village on Jan. 4.

LeMire was hired to be the Village of Darien Administrator/Clerk/Treasurer in February of 2015. She replaced Diana Dykstra who accepted a position as for the Village of Poplar Grove (Illinois) Administrator. LeMire came to Darien after serving as Beloit City Clerk.

The village is currently advertising for a new administrator/clerk/treasurer. The deadline for applicants to submit their paperwork is Jan. 25. The village’s personnel committee is scheduled to meet on Jan. 26 and select four to six semifinalists for the board to interview on Jan. 30. If the board chooses a candidate on the 30th – and is able to negotiate an employment agreement – the board could possibly meet again on Feb. 3 to approve the agreement.

The starting salary for the position is listed as $65,000 to $77,000, depending on qualifications and experience, in addition to benefits.
