Hoops for Hope benefit to support Lindow family

The East Troy High School girls basketball team will raise funds for the Lindow family, including (from left) Dave, Mackenzie, Lauren, Dayne and the late Maureen, during the Trojans’ game Feb. 18 against the Franklin Sabers.

The East Troy High School girls basketball team is pulling together to support an East Troy family at a time they need it most.

After a brave battle with cancer for many years, Maureen Lindow, 45, lost her life on Nov. 28. She was the mother of Mackenzie, Dayne and Lauren and wife of Dave Lindow, longtime East Troy High School tennis coach.

Maureen was a teacher at St. Peter’s School in East Troy for 10 years prior to teaching at Tibbets Elementary in Elkhorn. She coached  tennis in East Troy for six years.

The Trojans are hosting a benefit to support the Lindow family when they battle the Franklin Sabers on Monday, Feb. 18.

“She and her family have touched the lives of many. We would like to show our support for this remarkable family,” the East Troy High School girls basketball team said.

The fundraiser will include a bake sale and silent auction.

The silent auction will begin at 5 p.m. and go until the start of the fourth quarter.

Some of the donated items include autographed Bo Ryan basketball and Cal Ripken Jr. Cooperstown jersey, Milwaukee Bucks and Brewers tickets, catered dinner for six people, coach for a night for the 2013-14 season, Timber Ridge Waterpark party for 10, overnight stay at the Delafield House with a $40 breakfast gift certificate, overnight stay in the fireplace whirlpool suite at Country Inn and Suites, golf at Morningstar, Broadlands and Evergreen, spa gift certificates, gift baskets from Quaker Steak and Lube and Red Door Café, jewelry, Tastefully Simple merchandise, oil changes, gift certificates to Grist Mill and Charley O’s, tandem sky dive, Lake Geneva cruise, Zip Line Canopy tours in Lake Geneva, and more.

Hoops for Hope T-shirts can be ordered at the high school office, 3128 Graydon Ave. during the week of Feb. 14-18. Shirts are $15 each and will only be available during the pre-sale.
