CHARLES DELANEY

      Charles Robert Martin Delaney, 83, of Elkhorn, passed away Thursday, Dec. 31st, 2020 at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee.

Born May 31, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late John and Clara (Look) Delaney.

Charles is survived by his wife Patricia (Harazin) of 59 years; children Linda (D.J.) Richardson, John (Candi) Delaney and Cathy (Kurt) Picknell; grandchildren Gabby and Gwen Richardson, Colin and Connor Delaney, Zach Picknell and Ira (Ryan) Rische; great-grandchild Nash Rische; and dog Snowball.

Charles was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather as well as friend to many. Charles, often referred to as “Chuck,” “C.R. Delaney,” or “Elkhorn Charlie” served eight years in the Army National Guard. He worked as a custodian for Badger High School for 16 years and Lakeland Hospital for 18 years before his retirement in 1997. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, East Troy American Legion Post 188 and the Red Arrow Club of Janesville. He enjoyed being outside cutting wood and clearing lots.

He greatly relished in spending time with his family and sharing life-experience with his grandchildren whom he was immensely proud of. Charles had a passion for forestry and wood-cutting and could often be found watching videos about the craft. He was proud to be an American and was extremely patriotic.

Charles will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His life-lessons and memory will live on forever in their hearts.
