Flaming hot

The Williams Bay Fire Department responded to a car fire just before 3 p.m. Nov. 4 in the parking lot of the Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, Highways 50 and 67. A Kia SUV was parked in a handicapped zone with no other vehicles nearby when it burst into flames, possibly because of a fuel leak in the engine department. The hospital is in the Town of Geneva, which is served by the Elkhorn Fire Department but Elkhorn was on a call so the Williams Bay department responded. The automobile, which was owned by Carol Jean Neiger, of Winona, Minnesota, was a total loss. (Dennis West photo)
