Changes to Thanksgiving dinner announced

There will be some changes to this year’s annual Walworth County Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

The event won’t be held at its usual location of the Community Park Building in Delavan because the building is being remodeled.

Food will be prepared and delivered from the kitchen at the Village Supper Club, 1725 S. Shore Drive, Delavan, with the assistance of other area restaurants that have helped with the event in the past.

Due to COVID restrictions, there will be no in-house dining at this year’s event. Meals will need to be picked up at Village Supper Club, or they can be delivered to the elderly, homebound or others in need, courtesy of Boy Scout Troop #328, Cub Scout Pack #327 and Venturing Crew 2010.

Event leaders are in the process of starting its own 501(c)3 organization. Previously, funds were held in the Thanksgiving account through the Friends of the Park, and before that, the Elks Lodge.

As of now, there is not a need for volunteers but if that changes, organizers will post a call for help on the group’s Facebook page.

Reservations for pickup or delivery can be made by calling 262-749-4621.

Those wishing to make monetary donations can do so to: Walworth County Community Thanksgiving Dinner, c/o Chris Marsicano, 221 Inlet Shore Drive, Delavan, WI  53115.
