MICHAEL QUINTANILLA

Michael Quintanilla-loving father, grandfather and brother, passed away on Oct. 4, at approximately 2:20 pm in his home. Michael was a lifelong Delavan resident of proud Mexican heritage.

He was born the middle child of the late Rebecca Quintanilla (Rendon) and Catarino Quintanilla II on Nov. 17, 1959. Michael grew up with his elder brother Catarino Quintanilla III and younger brother Anthony Quintanilla in Delmar where he was a very active and athletic child with a passion for baseball. Michael was later invited to try out for the Cleveland semi-pro baseball team, but was enlisted in the United States Army at the time.

Michael was a proud father of four and is survived by his children – Taylor, Trent, Teryn and Thia Quintanilla as well as his four grandchildren – Elijah Michael, Bailey, Brodie and Bella Quintanilla. Anyone who spoke to Michael knew how much he loved his children.

Throughout his lifetime, Michael worked as a painter and server at the Grand Geneva where he made many memories and spoke very highly of his coworkers.

He enjoyed his retirement by spending time with his children and grandchildren. Michael also enjoyed rooting on the Green Bay Packers, gambling to win big and sitting outside by the lake listening to his favorite hits from the 70’s.

Michael’s absolute favorite pastime, however, was recalling and reciting stories of “back in the day” with old friends and all their wild times. It is no secret that Michael was on the wilder side and his family hopes that he is living it up on the other side. “To each their own.” We love you.
