Arts Alliance hosting metal design program

Group accepting entries through Aug. 16

The Whitewater Arts Alliance will host “A Lasting Impression – Metal Design” Sept. 4 to 27 at the Cultural Arts Center, 402 W. Main St., Whitewater.

This metals exhibit is open to all artists working in any type of metal; the application deadline is Sunday, Aug. 16 at 11:59 p.m.

Work must be original, and made primarily of metal, though light embellishments of other mediums are permitted.

The cost for submissions for WAA members is $25 for three to four pieces, $35 for three pieces and $40 for four pieces for non-members.

Beginning Sept. 4 and running through Sept. 27, the exhibit will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m.

In light of COVID-19, masks will be required, and a maximum of 10 people will be allowed in the gallery at any one time.

The WAA will also host a scratchblock workshop on Sept. 13 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Cultural Arts Center (the registration deadline is Sept. 6), and a closing reception and aluminum pour on Sept. 27 from 2 to 4 p.m.
