The victories continue to come in bunches for the East Troy boys basketball team.

But just like their counterparts on the girls’ side, the games for the highly ranked Trojans are about to become even more important.

East Troy maintained its three-game lead at the top of the Rock Valley Conference standings Monday night with an easy 74-55 victory over visiting Beloit Turner.

The win improved the Trojans, ranked fifth in the latest wissports.net Division 3 poll, to 15-3 overall and 13-0 in conference play.

Against Turner, the Trojans cruised out to a 20-9 first-quarter lead and had built the advantage to 46-18 by halftime.

Turner tried to make a comeback in the second half and outscored East Troy 37-28, but it wasn’t nearly enough.

Brett Prahl continued his stellar season-long play with a game-high 27 points to lead the Trojans. Alex Prahl and Nate Dodge each chipped in with 21.

The win Monday came on the heels of two more RVC victories earlier in the week.

East Troy opened play with an 81-69 win at Clinton Jan. 29, followed by a 77-40 victory over visiting Edgerton last Friday night.

Details from the Edgerton win were unavailable this week.

Against Clinton, Dodge exploded for 30 points to lead the way, followed by Brett Prahl with 25 and Alex Prahl with 15.

The first quarter was tight, as East Troy led by three at 21-18, but the Trojans took control with a 23-8 second quarter. Clinton trimmed the deficit in the third quarter but couldn’t complete the comeback.

East Troy will be back in RVC action Thursday night against McFarland, which entered the week second in the North Division standings, but three games behind the Trojans.

In the teams’ first meeting of the season, East Troy rolled past the Spartans 58-31.

After that matchup, the Trojans will travel to the JustAGame Field House, Wisconsin Dells, to face the state’s top-ranked Division 3 team, Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.

Wisconsin Dells began play this week at 19-0 overall and 9-0 in the South Central Conference. The Dells is led by four players in double digits, including M.J. Delmore (20.8), Shane Wimann (18.7), Mike Dickman (10.1) and Colyn Buss (10.0).

According to the JustAGame website, tickets for the game will be sold Saturday morning, beginning at 8 a.m. No presale tickets will be sold.
