RUTH ANN ‘COOKIE’ MALCOLMSON

Ruth Ann “Cookie” Malcolmson, age 70, Verona, passed away at the University Hospital-Madison emergency room at 12:02 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 after a protracted and extensive lung disorder.

She was born in Chicago, Ill. on Sept. 11, 1942, the daughter of Glennon, Sr. and June Headley.

Ruth Ann was married to Frederick C. Malcolmson on Nov. 18, 1961. They were college sweethearts, both attending UW-Whitewater.

Ruth Ann was a strong and loving woman, deeply committed to the happiness of her family.

She is survived by her husband, Frederick; their two sons, Brian, Madison and Bruce, his wife, Tina and their two children, Ian and Hadley of Waukesha; her brother, Glenn, Jr., wife, Jane and their two children, Darren and Mara, and their respective spouses, Dana and Kyle Butler; her cousin, Harold Reid and wife, Lynne and their extended families.

Ruth Ann worked as an office manager and tax practitioner with H&R Block for many years and as a senior tax practitioner with the Department of Revenue for 22 years until her retirement on Oct. 12, 2006.

A visitation and a celebration of her life will be held on Friday, Feb. 15 from 6-8 p.m. at the Cress Funeral Home, Madison.

The family will gather on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 2-4 p.m. at Cookie’s special place, her cottage on Turtle Lake, W7729 Wisconsin Parkway, Delavan, Wis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be directed to the Arthritis Foundation, American Lung Association of Wisconsin or to the American Diabetes Association.
