RICHARD E. JENSEN

Richard E. Jensen, 96, of East Troy, passed away peacefully June 7, 2020, surrounded by his family. He was born Feb. 17, 1924, in Chicago.

He grew up in Homestead, Florida.

Richard was married to the love of his life, Doris (nee Tews) for 68 years. They knew each other for 83 years.

Richard and Doris relocated to the East Troy area where they raised their family and were longtime residents and business owners.

Richard was a mechanical engineer and a member of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II as a combat MP. He participated in D-Day +5 on Easy Red and the Battle of the Bulge in the Ardennes.

After his honorable discharge from the service, he worked for Link Belt designing conveyor systems for the mining industry, Stattec and JI Case as a problem solver for production lines.

He and his family owned and operated Western Auto, Marshall’s General Store and Side View 76 all of which were in East Troy.

He loved fishing, traveling, and helping people.

Richard is survived by his wife; children, Robert (Debra Payne), Mary, Thomas (Cheryl Oberdorfer), Judith (Michael) Jakel; brother, David Jensen from Ohio; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a sister, and a son-in-law.

In lieu of flowers memorials to the family are greatly appreciated as donations will be made to Richard’s favorite organizations.

Legacy Funeral Services, East Troy, has the honor of serving the family.
