High school honors graduating seniors

A team of Badger High School administrators, teachers and staff members hit the road recently to honor the school’s Class of 2020 with yard signs delivered to their homes.

“Our hearts go out to the class of 2020. This is not the way we wanted your high school chapter to end,” Badger Principal Jenny Straus said. “It is important for us to make this the special time it is meant to be.”

Badger High School is planning other celebrations for seniors including a virtual edition of the annual Senior Awards and Scholarship Nights. In addition, there are plans to have a graduation ceremony in some form, even if it is delayed into the summer.

“Details regarding graduation and other celebrations will be provided in the near future. We want to do everything we can to honor the Class of 2020 and are monitoring the ever-changing health news and regulations regarding the COVID-19 pandemic to do the best thing for our students and their families,” Straus said.

She said until they are able to host these celebrations either in-person or virtually, the school wanted to recognize the class.

“Yard signs are a way we can safely and publicly honor our seniors. We know it’s not much but it’s something we can do to show how much we miss this time with them and how proud we are of the Class of 2020! Go, Badger,” Straus said.
