YMCA auction hits record numbers

The Geneva Lakes Family YMCA 34th Annual Wild West Auction presented by Johnson Financial Group Feb. 15 was a hoedown to remember. Held at the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa, the auction broke all records with 542 guests, 23 sponsors and raising $80,600.

“We are incredibly thankful for the support of the local businesses and the community who so generously support the efforts of the YMCA,” Geneva Lakes Family YMCA CEO Mike Kramp said. “We reinvest this money back into the community by providing Financial Assistance and supporting our Outreach Programs that include: Dream Team baseball for adults and youth that have special needs, Rock Steady Boxing for participants that have Parkinson’s Disease and Safety Around Water that is offered at no charge to schools in Walworth County to teach second graders the skills to be safe in and around water.”

The YMCA thanked its sponsors including: Johnson Financial Group, Poolblu, Bill and Linda Priebe, FORM Wealth Advisors, BMO Harris Bank, The Lake 961, Grand Geneva Resort and Spa, Popeye’s Galley and Grog, Stinebrink’s Piggly Wiggly, Next Door Pub and Pizzeria, Symphony Bay, Eye Physicians and Surgeons, Lake Geneva Chevrolet Buick GMC, Mark Larkin of Keefe Real Estate, Baker Tilly, Community State Bank, First National Bank, Balestrieri Environmental and Development, Sweet and Maier Attorneys at Law, Lynch Family of Dealerships, Chamberlain and Henningfield CPA’s, Scherrer Construction and Town Bank.

Guests at the auction enjoyed a themed celebration complete with open bar, appetizers, plated dinner, silent and loud auctions and after hours’ party and entertainment.

Next year, the Y invites guests to pull out their best for “A Night at the Oscar’s” scheduled for Feb. 20, 2021, at the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa.
