EAHS musical nominated for Jerry Awards

Cast and crew earn nods for recent performances of ‘A Christmas Carol’

Elkhorn Area High School’s drama club presented “A Christmas Carol” earlier this month and recently was informed the cast and crew had received numerous nominations for the Jerry Awards.

Lisa Dettman-Webb, drama director at EAHS, said reviewers for the Jerry Awards attended two of three performances the weekend of Dec. 6-8.

“We had a very successful weekend with our production,” Dettman-Webb said.

Nominations were received in the following categories (specific actors and crew members are named where applicable):

      – Orchestra;

      – Lead Performance (Alfonso Sanchez as Ebenezer Scrooge and Lucas Koepke as Marley);

      – Supporting Performance (Randy Jacobs as Ghost of Christmas Present and Jacqueline Siedenburg-Sis as Ghost of Christmas Past);

      – Young Performance (Dwayne Arnold as Tiny Tim);

      – Musical Direction (Matthew Remus);

      – Stage Management (Pauline Urioste);

      – Scenic Design (Jeff Kleist and Thomas Kleist);

      – Lighting Design (Connor Hutson), and;

      – Costume Design (Anne Hansen, Jaden Hinds, Senya Krueger, Devin Larmay, Stacia Nowaczyk and Kylie Townsend.

The Jerry Awards aim to encourage, recognize and honor excellence in high school musical theater.

According to Dettman-Webb, the award recipients will be announced in May and if any Elkhorn Area students are named for an award, they will be recognized at a ceremony on June 7, 2020.
