Pack Friday instead of ‘Black Friday’

The third annual Pack Friday community-wide food packaging event will be Friday, Nov. 29, at Calvary Community Church, at the corner of Highway 50 and Harris Road, in Lake Geneva.

The event is held in conjunction with OneMeal, a division of Kids Around the World. Pack Friday has been intentionally set on a date that reminds people they can take from their excess to give to desperately hungry children around the world, according to a press release from the church.

Calvary’s goal this year is to pack 125,000 meals and raise the $31,250 necessary to pay for them. Everyone is invited to sign up to serve and/or donate online at bit.ly/PackFriday2019 (or scan the QR code).

Three packing shifts are offered – 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.

Can’t pack food that day? A financial contribution would be gratefully accepted, according to the press release.
