Trinity to host tribute to veterans

Country Gentleman and Ladies will sing patriotic songs at Trinity Church’s Veterans Day tribute Saturday, Nov. 9. All area service members and their families are invited to the program and free lunch.

Trinity Church in Pell Lake will host a tribute in honor of the veterans’ commitment to liberty, patriotism and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 9.

All service men, women and their families are invited to the Trinity Community Center, W775 Geranium Road, Genoa City.

The event will feature Col. Webb’s Band of Musick (a Revolutionary War Band in period costumes and instruments), Lake Geneva’s Country Gentleman and Ladies singing patriotic songs, and a Ben Franklin and Deborah Read re-enactment.

Following a free lunch the local BSA Scouts will have a flag retirement ceremony. Feel free to bring used flags. Donations to Folds of Honor will be appreciated. Folds of Honor provides educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members.

The program is possible through the memoriam of Lois Guif and her family. Lois loved her God and her country. She loved singing patriotic songs and always waved the flag.
