Meet the Artists event at library Nov. 20

Two local artists will host a reception at the Lake Geneva Public Library, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20. Roberta Gifford Karstetter and Kasey Karstetter will discuss the inspiration and techniques of their art on display. Refreshments will be served.

Roberta Gifford Karstetter, formerly parish administrator/treasurer-bookkeeper at Christ Episcopal Church, Delavan, has tried different art mediums over the years, it has been through assemblage art, that she has found the most fulfillment in the last 14-plus years.

Much of her art is spiritual, some take a light-hearted look at various stories, or focuses on public issues, but the majority offers a deeper, reflective view of God.

A member of Geneva Lake Arts Foundation/Gallery 223 for four years, Gifford Karstetter has, the last 10 years, curated, with assistance from Kasey Karstetter, the annual Art as Prayer Show held each March at Christ Episcopal Church, Delavan.

She has exhibited at various Church and Youth Events, offering art as prayer displays, shows, and workshops, in Northern Illinois, and Central and Southern Wisconsin.

Kasey Karstetter, owner of Kasey K Photo, travels in Wisconsin and Illinois for portraits and event photography for her business.

She graduated in 2005 from Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design with a bachelor’s degree in photography. When not working for her business,

Kasey Karstetter creates abstract watercolors, mixed media paintings, digital art, and jewelry. Her inspiration comes from her love of nature, heritage, spirituality and symbolism.

She has been a member of Geneva Lake Arts Foundation/Gallery 223 for four years, and regularly shows during fall, winter and Spring months.
