Genoa City bust nets $80,000 in drugs

A 36-year-old Genoa City man is arrested and awaiting charges after a drug bust in Genoa City Sept. 25.

According to a press release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, Rigoberto NMI Herrera was arrested after the Walworth County Drug Unit executed a search warrant at 407 Franklin St. in the Village of Genoa City.

“The warrant was served after the Walworth County Drug Unit validated the location as a drug target with cooperation of the community,” the release states.

The bust netted numerous THC cartridges, THC edibles, THC wax, hashish, several pounds of marijuana and $10,494. The seized drugs have an estimated street value of $80,000.

A request for charges has been made to the Walworth County District Attorney’s Office, according to the release.

The Walworth County Drug Unit was assisted by the Village of Genoa City Police Department and the Walworth County Sheriff’s K-9.
