Without junior Emme Bullis, Whitewater’s best all-around player, the Whippets are doing all they can to make it to the home stretch of the regular season.

Bullis has been missing from the starting lineup since rolling her ankle in a match at Big Foot on Sept. 17.

Since then, the team has been playing through adversity and trying to hold it together. The Whippets also are looking to finish strong in conference play. Entering this week, the Whippets were 2-3 in the Rock Valley Conference and 11-19 overall.

On Sept. 24, the Whippets went to McFarland and lost in three sets of their conference match. The Spartans won by scores of 25-12, 25-14 and 25-12. McFarland is ranked eighth in the latest Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association Division 2 poll.

Junior Cora Linos finished with three kills, seven digs and 11 assists. Junior Kiyla Kopecky had four kills, four aces and two blocks. Junior Kacie Carollo led the team in kills with six. Junior Amanda Tovar shared the team lead in digs with seven and junior Catherine Skindingsrude and sophomore Avery Hintz added six digs each.
